5 speed 95 camaro cranks but wont start

So i bought this 95 camaro 5 speed the guy told
me he drove home when he bought it but it idled at
4000 rpms he changed a couple things and on the
top of the motor not really sure wat it is but he said
it kept poping off everytime he drove so he ziptied
it down he was able to drive it around the corner
amd then it died on him amd stopped starting so
he left it alome any suggestions on wat i should do

we have no way of knowing what this guy cobbed together , I hope you didn't pay too much , something not running with a zip tie holding it together would make me walk away , while I could fix the problem there's no telling what else this guy did .

Always check for plug fire and gas past injector. You can pull a spark plug and hold with RUBBER handle pliers and ground electrode on plug to metal on motor or frame. An aluminum head won't ground. Change plug if weak and check wiring, coil or computer for no fire. Crank motor to build fuel pressure and disconnect fuel injection main line with towel covering to avoid gas spray. No gas probable fuel pump or computer. Fuel pumps will rust and malfunction if it sits up. With gas check injectors. Idle probably related to throttle, throttle cable, computer or vaccum leak which causes lean condition and increases idle.
