Question type: Car Customization
I had a1989 IROC Z that I lent to a friend and he totaled it. Now I am building a 1995 Z28 but
the rear end in the IROC Z is posi trac and the one in the 95 Z28 is not and was thinking
about swapping them out.

Any 10 bolt from an 82-02 camaro should work. Just check the suspension mounts. Both should be the torque arm style suspension.
the 82-92 rear ends are narrower than the 93-02. they will fit but wheels will be further in.
most f-body rear diffs for z28 ss formula and trans am are limited slip. it locks both axels under heavy acceleration. but normal driving while turning 1 can spin slower. most 82-92 are open only 1 live axel. some like gta 's and z28 and irocs got the limited slip
Actually the 82-92 rear ends were only 1/10th of an inch narrower, really doesn't make a difference. 82-92 were 101.0 93-02 were 101.1
It will work just fine. Took one from '85 Z-28 and put it in an '96 Firebird. Very little modification only if you want for racing. No mods for everyday driving.
Does it have the long arm from the rear end to the transmission in the newer camaro and what is the size in the new camaro mine is an 88 and it only 7.5 I want to put a larger rear end in like a 8.5 or a 8.8 if possible 7.5 is just to small why they did that is be on me been threw 3 ring and pinions already
