Error code 8 popped up on the display
now my tape player doesn't work

One thing you might like to try is to remove the negative battery cable from the battery for a couple of minutes and then reconnect , it may just happen to reset the CD player. Just make sure you know your code to put into the radio when the battery is reconnected otherwise you will be locked out of the radio by the security system. Thank Another is- and I am guessing the code is coming from the radio isn't it?- to take out the deck completely and call Kia. They will want the numbers on the back of the deck so they can give you the proper security code to punch into the deck to unlock it. I usually call a 800 number to call Kia directly. Hope that helps. I was assuming the code is coming from the deck, yes?
