I have a 95 cavalier with a 2.2L motor will it work in
a 98 cavalier?

If the cars have the same 2.2 liter engine, same transmission configuration and body style it may me able to be swapped since the cars are the same platform. A certified ASE mechanic will be able to advise you better after he sees the cars and has the information.

they may work if the 8th letter is same,ex.if both letter on serial numbers is the same it should work but if different they will not change out.i went through the same thing on my cavalier

If I'm changing motors n a 2003 calverlier n one is a automatic n the other is a stick will it work
