Is my car worth fixing?

Honestly, there could be a plethora of potential issues plaguing your vehicle. It could range from out of balance wheels tires, front end alignment, worn steering/suspension and or linkage including but not limited to tie rod ends, struts, control arms, bearing/hubs, excessively worn rotors and or pads, cv joints/axles, etc.. For a 95, I'm assuming it has high mileage which would probably warrant a complete overhaul on the front end/suspension components assuming everything is original?

Hole in the muffler? Replace it. It will be about 1/8th the car payment for one month. The front end shakes? Rides funny on the freeway? GM is having a free alignment check at the dealerships, and the alignment runs around $125. They also will do a free safety check and if you have worn steering components, they will tell you. You don't have to have them do the work if you have a good reliable shop that will do it for less money. You may also have bad tires. Check the wear on the tires and they will tell you a lot of what may be worn. Tires after a winter of driving may be out of balance also. Shocks also may be tired. Get second opinions and if work needs to be done, use a good place that is trust worthy, (they do exists) but be prepared to spend two car payments. Now you have a reliable car for the cost of three car payments, and your done. That's 45 months more without car payments. The wiper fluid box may have a crack in it or there is a hose that is off or broken. The hose also may be plugged and if the mechanic can put a pressure hose on the line to blow out the gunk, it may be a fix.

I have to laugh when people say they have a "STD" car. Just had to add that. Maybe a couple shots of penicillin?

I has a 1995 Chevy Corsicathe front and kind of slides and shakes and rattles really bad when I hit bumps or make sharp turns I was thinking it may be the struts I've already confirmed the need to be replacedcould this be the only problem

Push on the front of the vehicle. If it goes down easy and bounces on the return, your struts are in need of replacement. You also should check the tires for unusual wear, have the tires balanced, and if the wear indicates, align the front. Shanking and bouncing will make parts move and go away from normal settings. It may cause you car to pull to one side or the other, continue a vibration due to tire balance, or have a blowout due to unusual tire wear and good rubber on one part but cord showing on another. Other-words, give it a good safety check. Think of it this way. If you don't spend the money to fix what is wrong and you have a wreck, what caused the accident, was less to fix than the deductible. Lets not get into injuries. Just my word of caution. A good tire man will tell you the tires are a good indicator of whats going on with your suspension.

Yes the struts COULD be the problem. If you're going through tires that fast, have everything checked. Tires are expensive. If you get new struts, your alignment may be off and that will scrub away the rubber on the tires. Bad tires cause vibrations. Poor alignment wears out tires, unbalanced tires causes vibrations and wears tires, without being physically able to look at the vehicle, we can only surmise the issues. I will not tell you the problem is 100% without question the struts, but I recommend a good possibility is wrong. We are telling you what to have checked. Struts should be checked first. How many miles do you have on them/the vehicle? What type of driving do you do, and the type of roads?
