Start by checking all fuses and relays. I hate to say this, but you should probably have the fuel pressure tested. even though you put in a new pump, it could still be bad. happens a lot unfortunately.

You might have the fuel pressure tested Adam. It has to meet a certain specification or it won't run.

how do I do that I'm thinking it could be the ECU cuz the guy I bought the truck from said that it was a short in the wire somewhere

You have to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel line under the hood. If you don't own a fuel gauge or know how to do it you can buy one and google the procedure, or have an experienced mechanic do it. Also if you have a short in wiring there are procedures to locate them. I would suggest a YouTube vide on the subject. They can be very helpful.

I have a 2009 GMC Yukon Denali and same thing. I replaced the fuel pump in December of 2017 and went to O'Reilly's to check the battery, alternator, and starter to see if those were any of the problems and they said all 3 were in great shape. My truck will start with someone else helping to give it a jump but i don't know what it could be possibly.

There's a wire directly in the top center of the firewall behind the motor that becomes frayed or completely falls off. It causes alot of issues that everyone is describing plus alot more. It would be good to check and make sure it is ok and here is a link so you guys can watch a video as to where it is.. https://youtu.be/lETfny-Xy4c
