why does my temperature gage on a 2002 saturn bounce around?

when i drive my car, the temperature gage is saying my car is over heating when its not
overheating. how do i figure out what the problem to fix it?

Check wire at temp sensor ,it,s right at the top radiator hose going in to head of motor,if no lose wire then you may need to replace.

Ok,good to know,only thing left is that bad guage in your dash.

You can replace it,but if i were you go buy a aftermarket one,it give,s you better tempreture reading than a factory,and much cheaper to replace.
