fan will not come on on 93 SC1

the fan will not come on until the car has already overheated. the fan does
work it just will not turn on. got this car yesterday. have not had much time to
look at it so i can't give much details.

So these cars have a known issue with the fan relay switch. In both of the S Series and the L Series I owned the fans would come on after the car hit the middle mark on the temp gauge. It seemed like they were always running, and I thought it was putting undue stress on the coolant system. Actually this is how it was designed to run, but as you know the car is not supposed to overheat however, if you swap out the relay switch for the fans, they will kick on at an appropriate time, also the thermostat which controls the coolant flow may also be a quick and easy fix to alert the fans to kick on when the car starts running hot.
