I own a 97 Saturn s series just replaced head and head gasket but it just keeps boiling over coolant temp gauge does not go up and fan works what could it be?

did not change water pump guy said it was working, he did change thermostat but I understand those can come malfunctioned

did you replace your temperature sending unit which is a little brass thing that goes into the engine and then there's one that reads just the engine temperature and then another one that reeds for the gauge or its a single unit but anyway it's located on the engine its a little brass fitting underneath where the battery is on my Saturn sc2 its a 2001 you can find it there sometimes that will send the wrong information to the computer and then the temperature temperature thermostat won't open up and you'll get a hot situation boil over
