On GM cars you have one fitting which is a plastic nipple type of thing and you depress it and it removes, you pinch it to remove the hose that's on the filter and on the other side you need a box end wrench that will fit it or you could use a crescent wrench on the other end I forgot what size it is but a crescent wrench will work.
the fuel filter is held in place by a black bracket that you can slide the filter out of and there is 2 or 3 clips on each end like paul stated the bracket is held on with two 13 or 15 mm bolts but they brake if you try to remove them because of rust
