If the neutral safety switch is bad, can that cause my 1999 Saturn sl2 car not to start.

My car started and I pulled it out of the drive way to park it on the street. I turned off the car and then went back a few minutes later to start the car and I got nothing when I turned the key, no clicking or cranking noise.

It could be the neutral safety switch. Could also be a bad starter. If it still acts dead, try this. Jack up car. Locate starter. Have someone hole the key to the ON position like they are starting the car. As they hold the key, rap on the starter with a hammer. If it suddenly turns over, then your starter is the issue.
Forgot to mention to check your battery terminals and make sure they are good and tight. As well as clean. If your battery is not a maintenance free battery, pop the caps and see if you have a dry cell. You may just have a bad or weak battery.
Don't hit it to hard you will break the magnets lose inside starter
Mine is doing the same thing have u figure out the problem. now I notice when I'm idling my temperature gauge slowly goes up but when I go to drive it drops back down again do you think all this is caused because of a sensor
