Would my 2000 Saturn 1.9 litre engine run and idle better if I just unplugged the MAP Sensor

Asked by Rowland Dec 05, 2014 at 07:07 AM about the 2000 Saturn S-Series 4 Dr SL Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

MY 2000 Saturn with a 1.9 litre engine has been having major idling and gas mileage problems probably stemming from the MAP Sensor. Would it do any harm or possibly help this problem if I just unplugged it?

When you unplug anything ... the on-board computer will probably generate "Check Engine" light and that may/may not trigger a default condition as if the MAP sensor failed
