connecting hose to low pressure system

readng high when connecting hose to low pressure system on vehicle air blowing out instead of sucking in refrigerant.

Check compressor to observe it running. Sounds like it is off (low pressure cutout switch). If it is running, check high pressure. If it is below expected you have broken valves in compressor.

Make sure you are actually connected to the low pressure side. With the compressor running, pressure should drop on the low side enough to draw is refrigerant vapor from the canister held upright. You can also warm the can carefully with a hair dryer to push refrigerant into system with engine off. Then run the A/C to read the high side pressure. A completely empty system will take about two 14 ounce cans. Wear safety glasses.
