Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello! I have a 2002 Saturn SL2 that never needed repair when I was driving it
but that's been languishing undriven in a garage for 15 years. Now I'm thinking
of bringing it out of retirement; what might be required (maintenance, licensing,
etc.), and what might it cost? Thank you!

Thanks very much! I was afraid of that, but it helps to hear it. I was hoping to avoid having to buy a new(ish) car, but it sounds like that's the way to go. Too bad; that car was a good friend for years.

I would try the basics such as flushing the fuel system, an oil change and a new battery and if that does not do it, sell it. If it starts and runs OK then you can go ahead and replace all the fluids and the tires.

Follow-up question: How much might it cost to have it (towed and?) looked at? With some prelim numbers I could make a more informed choice. Even if parts would be an issue, not having to buy a car weighs pretty heavily pro fixing it up. ("Labor of love" isn't too far off! Car's full of happy memories.)
