Why my car makes so low mileage in town?

mercury montego 2006 too low mileage. 74K m iles- regular change of air and
oil filter. Almost mint.

Have you also lost some performance ? Is the exhaust smoke kind of white ? Is there white goop under the oil fill cap ?

Back then we found a bunch of these having the wrong spark plugs installed on one or two cylinders, most were caught during warranty and replaced but I'm sure some didn't get found. so check the spark plugs and make sure you have the right plugs for the vehicle. Next is sensor misreads, you will need a live data scanner to see those numbers and compare them to what they should be reading at the current engine run time.
