Are you sure it is the air compressor? My Buick and Pontiac has a compressor that runs the air to the shocks/ leveling system on the GM vehicles if it is so equipped. It wiill run a few short minutes after turning off the vehicle. The air conditioning compressor is on the engine of your vehicle. There are fans in the rear that pushes out the cool air when the A/C is on.
I have a 1996 Chevrolet suburban and the rear air condition Will not work l change everything the compressor and orifice tube and expansion valve is the line stopped up
