2007 Chevy suburban 4x4

Asked by Eloyd4314 Nov 17, 2019 at 10:54 AM about the 2007 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LTZ 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have my suburban. It has 240,000 miles.
Been a great vehicle.   I drive it every day.
Last week I was driving it and I felt it was
missing.    Thought maybe I got bad gas
Then the other day I was driving it.   It still felt
like it had a miss.     Then that afternoon I had
to run an errand.   I was headed to town.   Got
about 3 miles from my house and the
transmission quite working.    The rpms went
up but it would not move.  I had no forward or
reverse.    I shut off the engine.    Let it set for
a couple of minutes then restarted the motor
and the transmission worked fine.   I headed
back home.   Went about a mile and it
stopped working again.  I shut it off and then
restarted engine and it worked again for about
a mile and stopped working again
Is the filter clogged or the transmission bad
Thank you
Eric

Is the transmission original to the vehicle? You definitely got your money's worth. Have it checked by a local transmission shop. It could be a solenoid issue or your looking at a rebuild. we can only guess.
