That's what the mechanic told me and his print out wasn't any more helpful than that. He just gave me a price ok 8k...
Maybe, I am also is a small tow with only one shop...
im having the same problem with my 06 and i don't know what to do i love the car ive had it since 06 i dont know if mechanic don't want to fix it but he keeps saying it isn't worth it but it also only has 50000 miles if you could email me back and let me know what and how your went my email is ashrpblond@outlook.com
I have a 2012 HHR and the timing chain recently broke on it. We bought a complete timing chain kit from auto store and had chain, pulley and guides replaced. Doing all this not knowing if the engine was trashed or not. After changing all that and flushing the engine to get shavings from the old timing system out it started right up. I had a family member do the work so the cost was no where near what a repair shop would charge. If you can do something like that then I would try it.
