Totally Dead HHR?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 2007 HHR has never given any problems. All it has needed has been 1 set of tires and a new Battery (fitted 2 days ago and has been running fine) But this morning when I opened it the other doors did not unlock. Put the key in to start it, but car is completely dead and key will not come out. Car is completely dead. No lights, horn, nothing.

Thank you. Did all that before posting question.. The battery was totally dead, no power at all and none of the warning lights had come on to indicate a problem. Dealer replaced the battery. But I am going to get the alternator checked out next.
Did u evr find out what it was mine did that today having it towed
Had a diode go out out in the alternator in ours. Killed the battery in about 20 mins. Good way to check is to unhook the negative cable and take a amp draw reading. If it’s high then unhook the alternator and do amp draw reading again: if it’s low ur alt is bad. Mine was drawing around 30 amps with it shut off. I put a test light across the battery posts to trace the wires and it didn’t even light up the test light. I unhooked the battery and did it again and it lit right up. Big draw. My dash readout also said service traction, and electronic steer motor quit while driving. Car died shortly after with no power to anything.
