Recall

How is this not a recall issue? Ever since I've had this car
I've had to replace the thermostat at least eight times.
And from reading things from sites and online
communities like this one it appears that this is not
random, but a significant issue with the vehicle. General
Motors needs to issue a recall and get this fixed
permanently.

put in a good thermostate like mr gasket and drill it as shown

I agree with Jim. 8 thermostats? No way. Was it fixed at a dealership or independent mechanic? If independent mechanic repaired it they may have used aftermarket thermosats. Sometimes the aftermarket ones are different then the ones the manufacturer used and cause issues.
