Solstice Maintenance

Asked by GuruYSG9 Mar 29, 2017 at 09:41 AM about the 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an '07 Solstice GXP with 29,000 miles. It has been garage kept and received routine maintenance. (oil changes, filter replacements, radiator flush, and battery replacement) Tires show no sign of dry rot. Is there any other maintenance I should undergo at this point?

Driving the car can be part of the maintenance. Seals around axle shafts, boots on ball joints, seals on the shocks and struts, and any place where fluids (oil, grease, transmission fluid, etc.) come in contact with moving parts (shock and strut pistons, axle shafts, steering knuckles) have the possibility of the seals drying out or cracking from NON-use. Take the care out, get it well warmed from driving (not just idling) and put it through its paces for 20 or so miles a month. You and the car will benefit.
