Is it possilbe to have GM's remote start added to my 07' Torrent?

I was told that my base FWD Torrent is not equiped to have GM's remote start installed.  I was told I would have to go with an after market but that it would possible mess up my theft deterent system

No, they were correct when they told you it cannot be added, as the remote start is tied into the BCM/PCM and other onboard computers. You will have to go with an aftermarket one although I would highly recommend AGAINST it as it is quite possible it will cause problems with your theft deterrent system, especially if it is not installed by the dealership with knowledge of your vehicle.

That is not correct Because I just bought a 07 Torrent with remote start The wife goes to work at 5:30 am loves starting that thing from anywhere in the house. Great investment when its 5 below outside

How many buttons do you have on your remote? If you have a lock button and an unlock buttona nd another buttom up top between them, then i believe you may have a remote start key fob . Simply , lock the car twice, you will heare the horn beep. then, press the top button with the round arrow on it and hold it until you see the lights flash. then wait adf see if it starts. If it doesn't start then you dont have the auto start function. Ussualy the 4 button remotes have the option. Hope this helps,... good luck.
