Time to get another car?

Asked by Lori Oct 01, 2018 at 08:09 AM about the 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i

Question type: General

2006 Impreza that I just love but I was told head gasket is going and it’s time
for a timing belt. For the gasket to go that means there’s a problem right? Well
it’s never had a problem that I know of. About 2 years ago it got hot for no
reason I stopped and that was it no more problem, strange huh?
I m wondering if it’s the first symptom of a dying car?
I can’t afford a new car but I am missing work today because I can’t be sitting
on the side of the road so I can’t afford one that will be breaking down.
What advise would you give me please. I thank you .

Shop around for a qualified independent Subaru mechanic and get a price. As the guy above says you need to compare what the car is worth to the repair cost.
