07 Subaru Impreza 2.5i manual non-turbo, stalling

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I start it, it runs perfect for about 5
seconds and then stalls. I unplugged the
spark plug coil from cyilinder 4 and it will
have no difference in the way it starts or
stalls after running for a few seconds so that
tells me obviously the problem is with
cylinder 4 but I’m just not sure what is wrong
with it. I didn’t figure this out until after I’d
replaced all the timing tensioners,
cam/crankshaft position sensors, Ignition
coil, wires, plugs, valve cover gasket, bad
injector, and air filter so I know none of those
are bad. I know it’s valves aren’t stuck
because there was no metal shavings in the
oil when I replaced the valve cover gasket

Do a compression test. As always head gaskets are the #1 suspect in your year Subaru.
