Worth it??

Has it been taken care of? If yes then yes. Do they have paperwork to prove it?

Paperwork means nothing! Take the beast to a SUBARU wrench and pay to get it thoroughly assessed. Nothing a paperwork trail of frequent oil, brake and tire changes and lo and behold the tranny's dirty and the heads are leaking....
I know you're up north.. something you said the other day about that gen being rusty and trying to get into the 08-10ish? But 3500 is pretty good imo if everything checks out. Still seeing a lot of 03-05 foresters in my area between 4500-6500. Very rarely between 2-3k. And OB's have more room, yeah?
Ten, try again. Don't respond if you aren't going to give some real perspective.
Without photos and a mechanical inspection the answer is "maybe".
