I can't pass emissions!

Make sure all your filters are new, air, fuel, crankcase breather, then change the oil and filter, check the spark plugs and replace if worn and any other ignition system components that even look a bit out of specs. If you think you can do it, replace the O2 sensors. hopefully you have a decent code reader then you can clear the computer and run the runtime protocols, when the protocols are done the code reader should show that all the ready lights are green. When that happens it should pass just fine. If you can't get the lights to go to green then a good shop should dive into it and see what is not doing it job correctly. Could be a sensor misread.
What is it failing for? HC, CO2, etc. Give us some more details please. This is an OBD I vehicle and subject to a tailpipe emission test. Plus the check engine light or service engine soon light must not be on when the engine is running but must come on when the ignition is in the run position and the engine is not running. Jim
The emissions test takes lots of study.
