Cost to replace Head gasket

Ballpark is $1300, maybe more if they also replace the timing belt and valves, it could go upward to $3300.

The turbo, eh? I'd be VERY careful to assess the heads by a machine shop. Cost should sit in the mid-teens, but do note that durability of the block is a serious concern with the turbo motors. There are a LOT of blown mid-noughts 2.5t motors. I'd probably NOT want to invest seriously in a 14 winter old Subies. Good luck. Ern TSG/B
