I have a 2006 Outback 4cylinder wth 140k mi and blown gaskets due to overheating problems. Is it worth it to repair? Sounds like a problem inherent to Subaru's. I feel so burned.

Margarite1 - Don't know if you could have prevented "over heating", or did it happen very quickly and you had no options like turning on the heater full blast or stop driving and pull over. Did you run out of coolant, water pump or thermostat failure or radiator failure. If it is any comfort to you, a lot of people usually have to do head gaskets around 150,000 miles. Be sure to get the multi layered retrofitted head gaskets, ask you mechanic about it, here's some information for you. Good luck. http://www.felpro-only.com/blog/sealing-subaru-2-5l-engines/

Hello - I have a question for all the Subaru experts if you could please. I was planning to buy a 2011 Outback tonight, 95K miles. What I found out today is making me question the investment. After reading about the CVT issues, I started digging and confirmed that this Outback did have an issue just a few months ago and SOA confirmed the CVT in this vehicle has a 24K or 24 month warranty since it was replaced with a remanufactered (NOT REBUILD) CVT under warranty.
