Ive honestly never heard of this name on a Camaro... it seems to me that it was just a decal that the previous owner had put on it...
the zr6 was an engine gm made i believe. but never an option in the camaro
wasnt there a zr6 corvette?
It's probably something the owner put on there. There was an rpo code ZR6 but there isn't much information about it. On Corvettes it indicates a "zone show vehicle" but I don't know what it indicates on a Camaro. The car could have had a set of ROH ZR6 wheels on it at one time to and the decal may have came with them possibly.
they are coming out this year 2011 zr6 camaro so idk who knows

My wife and myself just also purchased a ZR6 2011 camero and here is what we found out. It is a very rare and very Limited Edition trim package made in 2011 ONLY. Only a few were produced by Chevrolet. The 2012 line of cameros are not offering this trim package. i feel it is sharper and more appealing that the LSand LT trims. The ZR6 trim is after the Corvette trim package. A rare and LE trim package like the ZR6 will probably be in a collectors demand in the next couple of years and the value will go up, not down.Hope this answers your question.

I answered several members about the ZR6 Tomcat and myself has purchased. The ZR6 camaro originated from Low Country Chevy dealers out of charleston, NC. This also includes Marchant Chevy and Rick hendricks Automotive group. The groups originally had approval from the Chevrolet division of GM to add the logos for promotional purposes on 25 selected camaros. The camaros are, by title, considered 2LC's, not 2LS or LT's. They also on the titles are CMX for camaro, not the CM as all other Camaros are titled. Only 2 were modified until Chevrolet realized the ZR line is reserved for the 2012 Corvettes. A big mistake. The ZR6 Camaros are not CFT's. Iam attching a pic of my ZR^ to this response. Only 2 of the oriiginal 25 camaros were modified. This is also confirmed by the VP of marketing of GM and the engineering dept of Chevrolet, by telephone. I also have the e-mails to all 5 of the dealers involved in this promo that went wrong.
It's a Hendricks chevrolet limited edition . I have a 2011 zr-6 I got new Off the lot

Tomcat, I agree. It was a hendrick project was was initially approved by Chevrolet. Remember, the Corvette is a seperate standoff division of Chevrolet and when the idea of the ZR6 first came obout, Chevy knew and approved it but didnot know of the ZR Series of the 2012 Corvette production. Even when the C4 Corvette made it to the public in 1984, I believe, no one knew of it because it was done in total secrecy. GM had said no, chevy snuck around and design it and Pontiac Motor Division blew the whistle on Chevy and Corvette. Also, the HENDRICK AUTOMOBILE GROUP INCLUDES thedealerships of Jimmy Johnson, Jeff gordon, darrell Waltrip and a few other NASCAR drivers. I hope this answered all your concerns on the ZR6. Look at your title and registration ans see if it states a CMX for camaro and 2LC, not a 2LS. PS: We enjoy the ZR6 and every where we go we are asked where we got it from and what is it. The value should go up in the future, by Low Country Chevy VP's and other Chevy spokespersons we have talked to. By the way, does your ZR6 have fog lights? Please let me know and i may have a cure to that illness.

That sticker is off of a ss version camaro or z28 it is a reproduction sticker
mastercrafter answered 13 years ago
Devon, the sticker is not off a z28 or any other vehicle. The logos or stickers were custom made for those 5 dealers to use on a selected 25 models to change the vehicles to a ZR6 camaro for their promotional purpose.
it is more then likely a dealershpi package, kind of the the dakota ss novas,
mastercrafter answered 13 years ago
The ZR6 camaro is more along the line you mentioned. Was sponsered by the 5 dealers from charleston, S.C. ( previously I mentioned Charleston NC. Should have been SC.
Yes it has fog lights! And it came with a body kit on it. And with leather and heads up on dash

I am not sure what options were available for the 2011 ZR6 Camaro. But ours is sort of limited. HUD display not available. Fog lights not authorized. This is straight from GM. I have tried to have 2 different dealerships install the fog lights but not authorized to do so. probably the cold air intake conversion is OK. The car is awesome and we love it.

okay here, lets cut to the chase, a real ZR6 is a factory zone show car. they are used to promote new models. the RPO code will be on the build sheet. the dealer ZR6 packages are simply stolen "names" and are in no way a factory ZR6. factory ZR6 models in Corvette and Camaro SS are xxxxx extremely rare and are ALWAYS an internal Special order & will be printed on the build sheet, no exceptions! the dealer ZR6 decal pkg is worth ZIP, it is a mark-up tool because it sounds good. so if you find the needle in the haystack, you did good! keep it! and the chances of getting a factory window sticker is almost impossible since they were not built originally for public sale.
mastercrafter answered 12 years ago
The factory window sticker, the bill of sale, the Virginia state registration and the ID sticker on the left door jam rail states the camaor i have is a 2LC model(limited coupe) and the abbreviation for camaro is CMX, not a CM for all other camaros. Have to admit, a goof was made by the 5 Low chevy dealers in their promotion package of the camaro. i do believe it is what it is.

We have been waiting for GM to release actual production numbers on the ZR6. Looks like they aren't in a hurry. All factory Camaro RPO "ZR6" will be documented by the factory build sheet and the factory RPO sticker on the car. Our SS/RS 6 speed convertible was built Feb1 2011, or second day. Dealer added ZR6 packages are not factory and should not be considered factory in any way. I found our RPO sticker under the carpet in the trunk. The factory states clearly on the build sheet that ZR6 "Zone Show Car". ZR6 is an internal order usually reserved for Corvette. If any body gets the actual production numbers please let us all know. COPO lives ! Thank you

It could be that it is a corvette engine that is a cross between a Z06 and ZR1. I also think that the ZR6 was the GM show car.
mastercrafter answered 12 years ago
CamaroKid I appreciate your response. I at first thought the ZR6 was also just a car show. Remember, Chevrolet is a division only og GM. All divisions are as secret as to their intentions in a corporation. The ZR6 was devised in theory by Low country Chevrolet dealers out of Charleston, SC. The camaro sub-division of Chevrolet knew and approved og the mods completed by the dealerships of Low Country Chevrolet. Chevrolet and GM didnot know or approve it. The Corvette sub-division of Chevrolet heard of it and because of the ZR line of Corvettes, the mods were immediately stopped. Only 4 were modified as ZR6's. The ZR6 we own is registered ac a CML (Camaro Limited and as a 2LC (limited coupe). Only 4 were modified. As a GM show car???? GM said no and so did Chevrolet in Detroit. Once again, thanks for your response. I hope this clears the matter up. I am still sort of confused the idea behind it.
I also have one I bought it in Mt. Pleasant S.C. McCelveen Chevolet in Mt. Pleasant . they sold 2 of the only 25 . Mine is infurno orange. 1 of 1 with ralley strips. They were all 6 cyl cars . What mastercraft said is true .
So is it worth any money in the long run. I get asked just about it. I have no clue.
