should there be a connection on the mainframe from positive battery cable on a 1994 Camaro?

Asked by Craig Apr 03, 2014 at 01:15 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can see the ground from the negative cable is connected to the frame ok. Im the girlfriend trying to help the boyfriend while hes at work but I don't want to make it worse so I need some help. It looks like the positive cable should also be connected to the frame. does anyone know for sure? Also it was turning over a few days ago but wasn't getting a spark. thanks, Peggy Sue

No. There isn't a wire from the positive side of the battery to the frame. If he is getting zero spark, it sounds like he has a bad coil.

If there is power in the battery And you connect both sides to Frame ground it would melt the cable and start a fire that you can't Put out and if there is any combustible material near by Can you say RUN!!
