New thermostat, new lower hose. Top hose is very hot. Haven’t took radiator cap off today. Had a coolant flush and they put it on so tight I’ll try tomorrow. But same problem tonight when I headed home. Smh!
Heard a liquid pumping noise tonight when I cut car off too? Never heard that

2006 BUICK LUCERNE 4.6 LITER V8, Overheating and coolant boiling at Surge tank in about 10 minutes. After a lot of troubleshooting and labor, I found the problem finally. My recommendation before you do anything check for leaks using a hand pump and adapters to pressurize the system to eliminate all leaks before changing any parts. You can rent a coolant tester system from AutoZone. Long story short I found that my Radiator was leaking after I put about 16 pounds of pressure in the system. It was right on the seam of the radiator, and not obvious. This cooling system need pressure to raise the boiling point so it wont overheat. My Buick was probably introducing air in the system causing it to overheat. New Radiator and top hose and coolant. About 250.00 to fix I changed the Rad and it fixed the problem. these cooling systems run hot and have to be pressurized to raise the boiling point. 18 pounds on the cap which is higher than the average vehicle. Anyway that's what fixed my POS before I sold that nightmare. Good Luck and I hope this helps someone save Money. Rich
