Wire harness drivers side trunk

Sounds like bad repair work. Was it covered by insurance? From your description it seems water is entering through a damaged trunk or door seal. It can and will affect the wiring harness or modules if they are left in contact with water. The electrical issues you are also having are a good indication there is already some damage to the wiring harness. If this is being handled by insurance you have to ride that adjuster until they make the car right. I go to insurance auctions and see cars that seem perfectly fine, but then learn they were totaled because the insurance company gave up on trying to make electrical gremlins go away, and the policy holder rode them to get it fixed right or totaled. Plaguing electrical issues do require someone with troubleshooting know-how to hunt down, short of scrapping and replacing an entire harness.

Yes the other persons insurance progressive covered the repairs, we brought back to repair shop did I crappy sealing job with some black goop they said they didn't touch wiring harness but they had to to get at panels. Also it was left hanging, my daughter took pictures. What is the wiring harness connected to besides rear lights?

The rear lights will be part of the "body wiring harness." That's the biggest wiring harness on most vehicles. As the name implies, it stretches the whole length of the car. It seems the repair work was handled by a body shop who didn't bother with the damage to the wiring harness at all (and for the purpose of this post, we are assuming there is in fact damage to it). I'd suggest getting ahold of the insurance adjuster again and letting them know there is still unrepaired damage from the accident, and that the body shop didn't make the car watertight.

So, what does the rear drivers side wiring harness control, besides the rear lights and where does it go to?

We did get a hold of insurance adjuster and brought back to same place so they did a sloppy job trying to patch areas they thought water might come in, looks horrible. Then the body shop said they checked it out nothing they did didn't find anything. No help

The body shop will just deflect from their own shoddy work, gotta stay on the adjuster. If you can demonstrate to the adjuster the electrical issues, they should fix it without argument as it is a safety issue. It's really hard for anyone on this site to say what could be wrong with it, as it needs a hands on inspection. It could be a portion of the harness got frayed or pinched by the collision and is open or shorting. Someone will have to go through it with a meter checking continuity.
