First make certain the new battery has a full charge. Depending on where it was purchased, it could have been setting on the shelf for months. Next make sure your battery cable are clean and tight.

a memory saver should be used when you disconnect the batt. for newer vehicles , I don't know which ones because I steer clear of them but that may have something to do with it .
