What is the connection between the transmission and the "Service stabilitrak and service traction control" light ?

On Buicks the Traction Control is tied in with the ABS system, and as for 'stabiltrack' I need to do some research. But if your ABS goes out you will still have brakes, just not Anti Lock, you won't feel the petal pulsate in a panic stop and the tires will lock and skid,
They are ALL tied together, a problem with one means problems with the other(s), Fortunately, it's not a safety issue, except in the rare case when ABS can make the difference between losing control or not in a panic stop, or a skid on ice. Unexpected low-traction conditions such as ice, snow, gravel, wet pavement and uneven road surfaces can become serious driving concerns. StabiliTrak® is a proven vehicle stability enhancement system designed to help keep you on the road in such situations. Using sensors, StabiliTrak detects the difference between the steering wheel angle and the direction you're turning, then applies quick, precise force to the appropriate brakes to help you control the vehicle's direction and help keep it on course. Traction Control helps reduce wheelspin on loose or slippery surfaces by applying brake pressure selectively to individual wheels. Brake Assist helps the driver reach the antilock braking system (ABS) threshold sooner to reduce stopping distances.
The abs control module can't apply pressure it can only relieve pressure while braking hard. The traction control will either disable injectors or shift the transmission into a higher gear to reduce power output.
Other than the abs module having the ability to apply pressure david is correct.
Point taken John. I do see what you mean. Good to see ya man..

When and where were you hearing this clunk noise? My daughter is having so many problems with her 2018 Chevy Malibu, mass air flow sensor, throttle body sensor, her break system, and now this stabilitrak codes are coming up
Wow! I had all of those in my 2012 Cruze. Started with coolant leak. Removing sprayed coolant from spark plug wells and replacing the spark plugs fixed all of them.
