what could cause lack of acceleration in a 1994 chevy cavalier?

Asked by NeedRide7 Jan 20, 2014 at 12:08 AM about the 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This car has already had  a tune up, oil change, pcv valve replacement, new battery and fuel filter replacement.  The car started hesitating and now will accelerate.  The car shakes and feels like it's pulling against me.

Hello, Check trouble codes (search: gm obd1 trouble codes for instructions). If none are found check fuel pressure wiht a gauge. Some Autozone stores will loan a gauge (refundable deposit) call ahead. Only attempt to check fuel pressure if you have experience and instructions to do so safely.
