Hey all, just bought a 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier z24 two days ago. Drove it home last night, sat for an hour and now it won't start. Then engine tries to turn, but it just won't go. Thoughts?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

138k miles on it, new trans. Just put
$15 in gas in it that morning. We
gave it a shot of ether, which made it
spurt alive for a split second and go
back to turning. Don't smell any gas
so I don't imagine the engine
flooded. Seriously lost at to what's
going on, and I don't really have the
money for a tow job to a mechanic at
the moment. Thanks for any help all!

Turn everything off in the car, roll up the windows and turn on the ignition, you should hear the fuel pump. If not check the fuel pump fuse.
