cooling fans wont shut off till the battery runs dead and its not the fan module
hi my mother has a 2007 jetta 2.5 engine code BGQ with 64,000 miles and no warranty. her problem is that her cooling fans are cycling to full speed and then off. on and off quickly after the car is shut off, key out, and the dash light/milage turns off. it will do this till the battery will run dead. i have been messing with it for a week now. i have already replace the fan module/fan assembly. checked both coolant temp sensors and they are both are within the correct resistance specs and the ecm reads them at the same temp as the outside air temp when the car is cold. i have replaced the j317 power supply relay for the fans and when i pull the sb24 fuse the fans still run. so i checked the voltage on the sb24 fuse pins with the fuse removed and i have around 9 volts on one side and 8 volts on the other side. i dont understand why i have voltage on both sides of the fuse if its removed and the circuit is open. i dont seen anything else that can be back feeding. i have also disconnected any other component on the circuit diagram. is there anything else i can do before she takes it to the dealership. im to the point now im almost clueless and forsure lost . ecm maybe? and if so is there test to confirm it. i go to school for engineering and have a good grasp voltage and resistance
o dear lord please someone help me
