What would cause the clock display to remain on at all times?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car has about 80,000 miles but no real problems.  The battery is about 3 years old and lately has been loaing all charge. Live in Pennsylvania and it has been cold recently.  Could the clock LED display really drain the battery?  I know that on some cars the clock is displayed constantly, but I don't think that was so with the Cavalier. Does the computer need re-set?  And how would that be done?
Thanks, Bill
