While driving all lights came on cut off alternator smoking

I was driving my Nissan Altima 2007 all light were
coming up and it was jumping like the alternator or
battery was going out it cut off Ithe alternator was
smoking a little so I changed alternator checked
battery it want turn over nothing interior lights no
heads lights what is my problem

from your description of the smoke, if it was coming from the alternator, replacing it was your best bet. Check the main fuse and any others, one or more might have shorted out.
