Can a 1994 Chevrolet 4X4 1500 Suburban, with a tow package, pull a 2 horse trailer?

Asked by JoLene Sep 19, 2014 at 02:55 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet Suburban K1500 4WD

Question type: General

I am looking to purchase a truck that will pull a 2 horse trailer. I would really like an SUV,
but I also know a pick up itself, may be the better option. anyway, just checking into this
suburban for sale, to see if it would be a safe option.
Thank you

1994 1500 Surbaban--towing capacity/w/ tow package 6500lbs. Average weight of 2-horse trailer is 2500 lbs, 2 horses @1000 each totals 4500 lbs Add gear, tack couple bales alfalfa . beer, you will have a full 5000 lbs, so you will be fine. But important, PLEASE, make sure you have good, working brakes on trailer
