2005 Suzuki XL7 starts but won't stay running. Besides fuel pump or fuel filter which were replaced, what else could be wrong?

Check air filter and replace if necessary also clean or replace Idle Air Control or Mass Air Flow sensor depending on which one your vehicle has. Clean throttle with throttle body cleaner add seafoam fuel injector cleaner to gas tank.
Checked air filter and was clean. Mass air flow sensor was disconnected. The only way it starts is if you spray ether or spray gas into throttle body. Once it starts, it quits once spray runs out. Any other ideas?

Fuel injectors not working you can test injector pulse with a noid light at the injector connector check fuses make sure none are blown and also may have a bad PCM this controls injector pulse.

Check your IAC valve. It has four coils; each should measure 35-43 ohms (with the cable disconnected obviously). If that checks out, pull the valve, reconnect the IAC valve connector, and make sure the IAC valve plunger moves once and then stops as soon as ignition switch is turned OFF after cranking engine for 2 seconds. If no motion at all, check the wiring harness back to the ECM/PCM. A bad coil or no motion (assuming the harness checked out okay) means a new IAC valve is in order. NAPA does not sell these and I would avoid the $30-$40 valves on Amazon. Autozone and Advance Auto both sell these (and I am sure the local Suzuki dealer could scare one up for you also - just make sure it is for the 2001-2006 Suzuki XL-7s not the 2007-present Chevy XL7s - lack of dash intentional). There is one other possibility. If the battery was recently disconnected -- I see you have other work done where this might have happened -- the ECM/PCM may not be controlling the IAC properly. Start and hold the RPMs above 800 for a minute or two. The ECM/PCM should get reacquainted with the engine and you should be good. The Idle Air Control System (which the IAC valve is part of) may throw a P0505 "code" if that comes up. Otherwise it is off to the dealer for troubleshooting. Good luck.
