Compact Car

Asked by GuruVVFRC Aug 14, 2018 at 08:37 PM about the 2002 Suzuki XL-7 STD 4WD

Question type: General

I parked in a "Compact" car space and found a nasty note on my windshield
vulgarly telling me this space was for COMPACT cars. I have a 2002 Grand
Vitara XL7 4WD. I thought it was a compact car. Is it?

That's more of a mid size, Honda fit, mini Cooper, smart four two and Toyota Yaris are examples of a compact

Compact does not mean it is reserved for Smart cars. All it means is the space is on the small side. The note writer is a MORON.

Just so people know cities have rules about how many parking spaces a business has to provide. There can be a mix of handicap, compact and full sized spaces and they have rules about how many of each you can have. Compact spaces allow more parking slots in a given area which is why you see them all over.
