I just use a mutimeter or test light. You'll want one of the larger wires. With the key on find the power wire. Then test the next biggest wires untill one is showing 12 volts (light on) while the pedal is pushed and off when it's not. Tap into it and your good to go. I usually strip the jacket, wrap the wire around the brake wire without cutting it then solder them together and tape. Ensure you protect the wires from shorting. Also make sure you used a circuit breaker on the power supply and not a fuse.
