A low sounding raddle next to my Steering wheel

I have an aggravating low raddle sound somewhere next to the steering
column. What could that possibly Be?  My mechanic thinks it is inside the
dashboard. they want to take the entire dashboard out send it out to be
dissembled and fixed. This is my go-to work car. Get this - It takes four days
to get it back. it's only 65.00. please if you know what this sound could be,
Please let me know.  It is not the Steering Columb, that's all I know????????

On my 2001, that large dash cover below the steering wheel comes right off easily. Perhaps yours is similar. With that off you have decent access to investigate the sound a bit better. Good Luck.
