2007 Pontaci g6, over heating, replaced water pump and thermostat, still no heat

Asked by Nikkipresley Nov 15, 2018 at 11:27 AM about the 2007 Pontiac G6 GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Its no longer over heating but the heat won't come
on and it's like my coolant isn't flowing through the
engine, like it's stuck in there. Can the new
thermostat be bad? What else can I do

Yes, new thermostats are bad more often than you think. Remove the tstat put it in a old bean can or something similar cover tstat with water then put on the stove see when tstat opens or fails

Could be trapped air in the system that is preventing the coolant to flow through the radiator. Try bleeding the system or parking the car uphill to get the air out.
