2007 Pontiac Grand Prix overheating

Asked by Guru29L17 Feb 20, 2020 at 02:22 PM about the 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 07 Pontiac Grand Prix. It keeps
overheating on me. It’ll run just fine when it’s sitting
and won’t over heat. You go maybe a mile or two
and the temp starts to go up. My engine light is on
and says it has something to do with the two vans
in the front, but those work. Had a water pump put
in last year. Doesn’t seem to be leaking fluid
anywhere. Tried to bleed my coolant lines
yesterday, but didn’t see any any bubbles coming
out. Just trying to fix it so I can sell it.

This is a coolant circulation problem. Thermostat, water pump, or a flush using a chemical cleaner would be my plan of attack. Hope that helps! Jim
