No crank just clicks. What is wrong with my car?

Asked by Jonathan Aug 26, 2022 at 11:22 PM about the 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 grand prix. I have put a new battery,
a new alternator,  a new starter. And replaced the
crank sensor and the car won't start. When I turn
the key all I get is click click but engine doesn't turn
over. What am I missing?

If you replaced the alternator thinking it would help it start then you shouldn't be working on cars . Are the batt terminals tight ? Is the big red starter cable from the batt tore up ?

Check the negative battery cable connection. It may be rusted or corroded where it bolts to the frame, engine, etc. You've got a bad connection close to the battery. Hope that helps! Jim
