headlights come on when jeep is parked and turned off

Asked by Darbyboy7 Dec 09, 2019 at 08:22 PM about the 2007 Jeep Wrangler X 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2007 jeep was parked in the backyard, no one around it, key fob hanging up
in the closet and the headlights randomly came on went off and came on again.
It has done this several times. What could be causing this issue?

It could be a bad key fob. Check to be sure the vehicle is still locked after the headlight flashing. If not, I'd suspect the fob. Remove the battery from the fob and see if it stops. Several years ago at my job we had a HHR delivery vehicle. The doors were electronic and could be opened with the fob. We started seeing the left rear door pop open by itself. Finally we removed the battery from the fob and it stopped. Hope that helps! Jim
