Camber Alignment - 2007 G35 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Is there a single point of failure that would allow the camber to "relax" out of alignment on BOTH rear wheels? Is there a single nut/bolt/part that controls the alignment for both wheels? My rear wheels were severely out of alignment after having new tires installed by the dealer. The wheels wore down to the steel ply in less than a month. The dealer is telling me that a nut came loose that allowed the suspension to "relax". Is this possible or would it need to happen separately for each wheel?

The only main component that ties the rear suspension together would be the sway bar. If this component was undone, then the cars cornering ability would suffer but it wouldn't make your alignment off. It sounds like a combination of aggressive driving and lowering springs.

The problem is that the camber is WAY off on both rear wheels. I had new tires installed by the dealer. I had to return it once because the steering wheel alignment was way off. A friend driving behind me happened to notice sparks coming from my tires, prompting me to return it a second time. The steel ply was showing. The new tires are only 2 months old. I am not even close to an aggressive driver. I'm just wondering if a single "loose something" would cause a problem with both, or if each wheel would require error. Perhaps locking nuts weren't put back on? Its seems weird that both would be affected. Thanks for the reply!
