I have a 2008, I bought abt 6yrs ago with 69k miles on it ( so just broken in) - I did a ton of research to the point that I knew more than our local dealer on some issues we were having around 115k miles. ( not many were sold in our area as the Lincoln navigator and Cadillac Escalades were the car in this area everyone wanted) anywho the 08 had the best reviews and apparently a different engine that newer models that had issues.. we had to replace suspension, TPMS sensors and window actuator in driver window .. problem no one could figure out was suspension problem threw me into “Tow Mode” which was the expensive part bcs no one could figure out what the problem was. As this problem also caused serious alignment issues destroying 2 tires in under a year. Once fixed it was a dream.. so those problems with suspension, and now I’m seeing it is a normal problem- is the Big thing to watch for. Now I see the QX56 and newer Qx80 everywhere I go, when in the beginning here mine was the only local one you’d see.. even the armada was not seen too much around here. I recently had transfer case issue- but unfortunately the part to replace isn’t an option- you have to replace the whole thing.. all in all I spent $8k in the last year for all those things and it was worth it bcs it drives like new. Equivalent to replace and upgrade is abt $80k to replace and the base models at that price don’t have all the options I have. So I love the vehicle and intend on having it til at least 180- 200k miles, I wish Lexus/Toyota made an equivalent size wise, but they don’t- so for me, the Nissan/infinity product was the next best thing.. I’m at 124k miles and it runs great.
